Simple Cabbage Steak Recipe

These tender cabbage steaks are a delicious and simple way to pack some veggies into your dinner. Quick and easy, these will become a staple in your household!

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp thyme optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F
  • Cut the cabbage into ½ inch slices
  • Arrange the cabbage slices flat on a baking sheet and drizzle both sides generously with olive oil. Use a basting brush to spread the oil out and then sprinkle salt and pepper on each side.
  • Top the cabbage with freshly minced garlic and thyme.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are crispy and the center is tender.

Notes

  • While regular iodized salt can be used, we prefer using himalayan salt to get a better flavor.
  • You can experiment with other toppings for the cabbage. Our favorite was adding mozzarella and red pepper flakes just a few minutes before the end of the baking time!
